Welcome! I am Ellie, a registered midwife and experienced perinatal educator, breastfeeding consultant and former doula, dedicated to supporting multicultural and expatriate families during pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care. 

 

I have three daughters, a husband (who travels a lot) and two dogs... and, fortunately, the fun never leaves the house! Having grown up ‘away from home,’ I know the difficulties of raising a family in a foreign country. 

 

With over 17 years of professional experience, I offer personalised and culturally accessible care in English, Italian and Portuguese. Having lived as an expatriate in Italy, Brazil, the USA, Portugal, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, I deeply understand the unique challenges that multicultural families face when navigating maternal and child healthcare systems abroad. 

 

I discovered my calling to support women after experiencing a very positive vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC) with the birth of my second daughter, and I feel blessed to be able to make this my profession. 

Since 2007, I have founded several important maternity support initiatives, including ‘Il Club delle Mamme’ in Italy and the first legalised doula agency in the United Arab Emirates, ‘Belly Baby Mom’. I continued to support women as ‘The Hugging Doula’ and created the collective ‘Maternidade Ativa’ to support Brazilian families in London.

In 2020, I decided to fulfil my lifelong dream of becoming a midwife. For the past 5 years, I have worked for the NHS (National Health Service) in hospitals and in the community. In 2025, I decided to expand my practice as an independent midwife, as I missed the continuity of care I used to offer as a doula. 

As your international midwife, I promise compassionate, non-judgmental care tailored to your culture and personal birth preferences. My goal is to help you create a positive birth and motherhood experience — whether through one-off consultations or ongoing midwifery support — so that you feel supported and confident at every stage of the process.
